Multi-b-value DWI in kidneys

Demonstration of multi-b-value DWI in kidneys. Results showed advanced diffusion models may contain relevant information regarding tissue diffusion, tubular flow, and capillary perfusion in kidney diagnostics and prognostics.

IVIM and DSC Local Perfusion MRI in Acute Stroke

Demonstration of “local” perfusion, i.e. all blood flow within a region whether supplied antegrade or delayed and dispersed through the collateral network, with IVIM and local-AIF DSC MR. Results showed local perfusion may contain relevant information regarding collateral supply, infarct growth rate, and flow augmentation treatment response in acute stroke.

Muon Tomography

Wrote a geometric simulation of a proposed two-plane muon detector and its planned orientation and movement to test its ability to generate high-resolution images of the Great Pyramid using muon tomography.

Compact Fourier Transform Spectrometer

Wrote a ray-trace based simulation to model signal modification due to our developed compact Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS) intended to measure the spectrum of radiation sources between 50 GHz and 330 GHz, such as the cosmic microwave background.

Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation Detectors and Instrumentation

A lab organized for summer PhD students in running our compact Fourier transform spectrometer designed for the south pole telescope by measuring transmission of fluorogold.
